Continental developed the ContiForceContact as a Streetable Track & Race tire for driving enthusiasts who want to take full advantage of their driving experience with a tire that delivers consistent performance to and from the racetracks, joining in track lapping days and HPDE (High-Performance Driver Education) events.
Continental developed the ContiForceContact at world-renowned Nürburgring circuit. The ContiForceContact is a blend of Continental's technologies for its racing and passenger car tires. Similar to other Streetable Track & Competition tires, the ContiForceContact should not be driven on very wet roads where standing water is present and there is the risk of skidding. Neither should it be driven in temperatures near freezing, on ice or through the snow. It is extremely important to store these tires indoors at or above 32˚F temperature.
Continental utilized its Black Chili tread compound in developing the ContiForceContact tires. This compound contains distinctive grip resins that boost tire-to-road contact on the miniscule level. Molding the compound into the front/rear, exact-sized asymmetric tread design, that features macro-block patterns with strong horizontal shoulder blocks to provide better transmission of power. Angled grooves provide road surface hug-ability to deliver improved dry cornering grip, accurate steering and expected handling under possible breakaway situations to deliver fast lap times consistently. Silica tread compound modified specially for road surface provides better traction on wet surfaces. Wide circumferential center grooves and a bi-regulatory drainage inboard removes water from beneath the footprint to resist skidding.
The inner structure of the tire consists of two wide steel belts strengthened by spirally covered polyamide to support the rigidity of tread area and prevent distortion of contact area during forceful acceleration, braking, cornering, and high-speed usage.
Molding a tread depth of approximately 6/32" in their grooves, ContiForceContact tires are not shaved for damp tracks. The ContiForceContact tire does not need shaving for use on dry track, but their lap time performance and durability will improve when shaved to about 4/32" tread depth to start competitive dry weather track/road racing use, but this will limit tread life significantly.
Warning: While the ContiForceContact radials comply with DOT requirements, they are not commended for wet conditions driving where standing water exists and there is hydroplaning risks. Drivers, therefore, must reduce speed and drive cautiously when they run into these conditions especially if the tires are shaved or worn. Similar to other Streetable Track and Competition tires, they should be neither stored, serviced nor driven on ice, through snow or close to or below freezing temperatures.
Continental's warranty: The tires should never be left in direct sunlight, left exposed to sunlight for long periods, or high heat sources, humidity, temperatures below 32˚F ( 0˚C), prolonged storing in tire racks, or coming in contact with fuel, lubricants, solvents and other chemicals including ozone discharge from electric motors, transformers, etc. Warranty will not cover tires showing conditions arising because of use in these situations.
