What is the importance of the radiator?
It’s a common fact that when you drive, the engine can get heated. Many parts are required to ensure that the engine doesn’t get overheated, including cooling fans, coolant, the radiator, and a water pump to name a few. These components work together to carry heat away from the engine and into the radiator where it can be cooled down.
If your engine has been breaking down or having trouble starting, it could be a problem with the radiator. Bring your car in to your neighborhood Big Brand Tire & Service and we’ll diagnose whether it is a problem with your cooling system and if it is specifically a radiator problem, we will perform a radiator flush.
What is a radiator flush?
According to your vehicle’s manufacturer recommendations, it is ideal to regularly bring your vehicle in for a radiator flush in order to get your radiator flushed to remove the old coolant and refill with new coolant. Our service includes:
· Checking the radiator for leaks
· Removing the old coolant
· Refilling the cooling system with the proper amount and type of coolant
If you wait too long between services, you risk allowing dirt and debris to build up in your vehicles cooling system, disabling the radiator from regulating temperatures in your engine and resulting in inevitable engine failure.
