The Proxes R888 is a Racetrack & Autocross Only tire by Toyo intended for driving fans participating in track days, road racing and high-performance driving schools. The unique casing and tread design of the Proxes R888 deliver better handling, improved dry performance and wet traction.
Although the R888 radials meet DOT standards, they should never be driven, if shaved or worn, in wet conditions especially where standing water is present. Drivers should reduce speed and drive cautiously to limit hydroplaning risks. The Proxes R888 is similar to all Racetrack & Only tires and should never be driven in temperatures close to freezing. It is recommended that you store these tires indoor at a consistent temperature above 150F.
The Proxes R888 tire features an R-Compound Tread that capitalizes on traction to deliver improved competitive handling and performance. The R-Compound tread is shaped into a directional “V-shaped” tread pattern that features an enhanced tread area and restricted void to improve dry grip while the “V-shaped” grooves help with wet grip. Semi-slick shoulder regions increase traction for improved steering response and continuous center contact delivers better braking performance and dry grip.
The internal structure of the R888 features an advanced competitive improved radial construction to deliver better driving performance around the corners and quick acceleration onto the straight-ways.
