The Continental CrossContact UHP is one of Continental's best ultra high performance tires. The tire was built for performance minded individuals, driving high performance four wheel drive vehicles. The Continental CrossContact UHP features a silica enhanced tread compound that focuses on improving wet and dry grip on top of extreme rolling resistance. Continental Tires is one of the industry's leaders in low rolling resistance, which helps to increase the fuel savings that one can see by equipping the CrossContact UHP. On top of rolling resistance comparable to that of a passenger tire, Continental molds this compound into an asymmetric tread design which helps to provide incredible stability and control while driving in wet and dry conditions. The tread blocks feature stiff outside shoulders to increase steering response, independent inner tread blocks and a continuous center rib to increase straight-line tracking. Wide circumferential grooves to provide channels that disperse water from the tread maintaining traction in all weather conditions. The circumferential grooves also help to eject water away from the center rib, which helps to reduce the risk of hydroplaning while driving in all season weather. The tire's internal structure includes two steel belts which are reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide which combines enhanced strength with ride comfort.
