The Conti SportContact 3 SSR is one of Continental's max performance summer tire that is developed for the drivers of super powerful sports cars, sports coupes and luxury sedans. The Conti SportContact 3 SSR is designed to combine outstanding braking capability and agile steering precision, with an asymmetric tread design to evenly disperse driving forces. Like all summer tires, the Continental Conti SportContact 3 SSR is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or ice. The Continental Conti SportContact 3 SSR tire features an asymmetric tread design with stiff solid tread blocks, and a continuous rib on the shoulder of the tire to help improve responsiveness and cornering stability. The SportContact 3 SSR also has wide continuous intermediate ribs that provide constant ground contact and also help to reduce road noise and control the extreme forces experienced when accelerating and braking. The continuous circumferential tread grooves help to disperse water from the tread and to resist hydroplaning. The SportContact 3 SSR also has asymmetrically angled walls that further stabilize the tread ribs, increasing high-speed steering precision; this also helps to reduce the slight deformation of the tire that happens while cornering. The Continental SportContact 3 SSR allows drivers to keep driving in the event of a flat, allowing them to reach a tire service facility without having to go through the hassle of changing a flat tire, then driving with the spare. The Conti SportContact 3 SSR's reinforced sidewall enables the car to continue on its way at a maximum speed of 50 mph for up to 50 miles. The notched shoulder blocks on the inboard portion of the tread enhance wet weather traction. The tire's structure includes twin high speed steel belts reinforced by nylon to help stabilize the tread area, enhance handling, and its high speed capability.
