The Bridgestone Potenza RE050 RFT is a maximum performance runflat summer tire created to complement the performance of sport sedans, sports coupes, and sports cars. It is used as an original equipment tire on the Mercedes Benz S55 AMG sedan and another version is used on the 12 cylinder Enzo Ferrari super car. The Potenza RE050 RFT was designed to provide great traction and response as well as predictability when driving in wet and dry conditions. Being a runflat tire, the Potenza RE050 RFT has the capability to drive for 50 miles, at 50 MPH, after a puncture, allowing you to drive to an auto repair provider. This tire is not suitable for driving through snow and ice, nor is it suitable for driving in temperatures close to freezing. The exterior of the Potenza features a high grip compound which has been molded into an asymmetric tread design. The tire also features a continuous center rib with stable shoulder elements and large tread blocks that help to provide high speed stability, responsive handling and traction on dry roads. Its lateral and circumferential tread grooves help to pump water from underneath the tire thus minimizing hydroplaning and increasing the wet traction of the tire. Adjacent to the inside shoulder blocks you will find a continuous circumferential rig that enhances the wear quality of the tire while reducing noise for a more comfortable ride.
