The Bridgestone Potenza 3R050A is a maximum performance tire created for performance sports cars, sport sedans and sports coupes. The Potenza 3R050A was preceded by the Potenza RE050 which was the original equipment tire for the Mercedes Benz S55 AMG sedan. The Potenza 3R050A was created as the original equipment tire for the 12 cylinder Enzo Ferrari supercar. There is also a run flat version created for 5 series sedans and the BMW Z4 sports cars. The Potenza 3R050A provides good traction, responsive handling, predictable handling and much more on both wet and dry roads. This tire was not designed for use in temperatures close to freezing nor should they be used for driving through snow or ice covered roads. The tread compound is a high grip compound with an asymmetric design, a continuous center rib, stable shoulder elements and large tread blocks. These allow for high speed stability, responsive handling and great traction on both wet and dry roads. The circumferential grooves and the lateral tread grooves help to pump water away from the tire’s footprint so that hydroplaning is minimized and wet traction enhanced. Adjacent to the inside shoulder blocks there is the continuous circumferential rib which enhances the tread wear while reducing noise for the entirety of the tire’s life.
