What is the cooling system?
One of the most common reasons why vehicles breakdown or experience problems is due to cooling system failure. A cars cooling system is incredibly important, and any flaws in the system can result in engine failure. The cooling system is responsible for regulating the temperature in your engine and keeping it from overheating or breaking down.
Why is coolant important?
Coolant is also known as antifreeze, a fluid that circulates throughout the cooling system from the engine to the radiator. The antifreeze helps keep the cooling system from corroding and keeps the engine from overheating or freezing over in the winter time.
How often do you need to get a coolant flush?
Problems with the cooling system can usually be traced back to old coolant, low coolant levels, or leaks in the system. You can prevent these problems from occurring by taking your vehicle in every 2 to 3 years or 24,000-30,000 miles to get the cooling system flushed and refilled. Besides time and mileage, a change in color can often indicate a need for a coolant flush.
